Dedicated lane for cyclists. Dedicated lane for cyclists Fines for cyclists

03.07.2020 Energy

Sign 5.14.2 "Cyclist lane" marks the beginning of a separate dedicated lane, on which only bicycles and mopeds are allowed. The sign shows a bicycle and an arrow indicating the direction of travel. If sign 5.14.2 is located above the road, then its effect applies only to the lane over which it is placed. The action of a sign located at the right edge of the road applies only to the right lane

Base

The base of the road sign is galvanized steel, 0.8-1 mm thick. To increase rigidity, the workpiece is rolled to obtain a double flange. Thanks to additional stiffeners and reinforced fasteners, the possibility of deformation of the sign both from the wind and from other factors is excluded

To secure the road sign, the base is equipped with a special fastening such as a tongue. The mount is attached to the body at two points using a bullet method that does not distort the image of the sign and provides much higher reliability than using spot welding or riveting. A road sign mask is applied to the surface of the base, made of high-quality reflective films in accordance with GOST R 52290-2004 and GOST 32945-2014

Sign 5.14.2 - The lane for cyclists belongs to the category: Signs of special instructions in accordance with the traffic rules for 2019.

Sign 5.14.2 applies to the strip above which it is located. The action of the sign installed to the right of the road applies to the right lane.

    Sign in traffic tickets

Signs for special instructions are responsible for entering or canceling certain driving modes. For example, special warning signs can alert road users that a motorway begins next, where rules differ from those on the previous section of the road. Also, special prescription signs include all signs that indicate a feature of a further road section. The beginning of a settlement, a residential area, a zone with limited parking or their end, all of this refers to signs of special instructions. In addition to this function, this type of sign also indicates different traffic in the lanes in different sections.

It should be noted that non-observance of the rules that establish signs of a special instruction may result in punishment in the form of fines, up to and including deprivation of a driver's license. The type of traffic rules of special prescription 2019 has a common color scheme, which greatly simplifies their memorization and recognition on the road, and it is also always easy to determine the prescription about which these signs speak, since the images on them are quite simple and easily identifiable.

    Good afternoon, dear reader.

This article focuses on a dedicated cyclist lane. Concept lane for cyclists was introduced into the rules relatively recently (in 2014). The allocated lanes themselves have not yet come across to me on the roads. However, it is only a matter of time and sooner or later these infrastructure elements will take their place.

Today we will look at the rules related to the lane for cyclists, as well as the penalties for violations committed in this lane. Let's get started.

    What is a cyclist lane?

The concept of a lane for cyclists is given in clause 1.2 of the SDA:

"Cyclist lane" - a lane of the carriageway intended for movement on bicycles and mopeds, separated from the rest of the carriageway by horizontal markings and marked with sign 5.14.2.

Please note that mopeds (scooters) belonging to motor vehicles can also move along the lane for cyclists.

What is the lane for cyclists?

The beginning of the lane for cyclists is indicated by sign 5.14.2:

If this sign is above a road, then the lane for cyclists is the lane directly below the sign. If the sign is located to the right of the carriageway, then the lane for cyclists is the right lane.

The end of the lane for cyclists is marked with a special sign 5.14.3:

Above are the main signs for the cyclist lane. In addition to these, several additional characters are used.

Signs 5.11.2 and 5.12.2 are installed on roads where the only oncoming lane is a lane for cyclists:

Signs 5.13.3 and 5.13.4 are installed in front of intersections if there is a designated lane for cyclists on the intersected road, directed towards the main flow of vehicles.

Who can use the cyclist lane?

First of all, consider paragraph 9.9 of the SDA:

9.9. The movement of vehicles on dividing lanes and shoulders, sidewalks and footpaths is prohibited (except for the cases provided for in clauses 12.1, 24.2 - 24.4, 24.7, 25.2 of the Rules), as well as movement of motor vehicles (other than mopeds) in lanes for cyclists.

Thus, only bicycles and mopeds can move along the designated lanes for cyclists. Note, cars cannot enter the designated cyclist lane no way. Even if the lane is separated from the rest by a dashed marking line.

This is the essential difference between the lane for cyclists and.

Let's move on to cyclists and moped drivers.

Cyclists should move along the lane for cyclists:

24.1. Cyclists over the age of 14 must travel on cycle paths, cycle paths or cyclists' lane.

This requirement applies only to cyclists over 14 years of age. Cyclists under the age of 14 cannot ride the designated lane.

Note that if there is a designated lane, cyclists over 14 years old should not ride on the sidewalk or sidewalk.

Moped drivers can also ride on the cyclist lane, regardless of age (issued from the age of 16):

24.7. Drivers of mopeds must move along the right edge of the carriageway in a single lane or along the lane for cyclists.

    Cycling fines

Consider related to a dedicated lane for cyclists.

    1. Departure of the car to the passing lane for cyclists - 1,500 rubles:

shall entail the imposition of an administrative fine in the amount of one thousand five hundred rubles.

    2. Departure of the car for cyclists - 5,000 rubles or for 4-6 months:

    4. Departure in violation of the Traffic Regulations on the lane intended for oncoming traffic, or on tram tracks of the opposite direction, except for the cases provided for by part 3 of this article, -

shall entail the imposition of an administrative fine in the amount of five thousand rubles or deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a period of four to six months.

    3. The fine for a cyclist who rides on a sidewalk or shoulder with a designated lane for cyclists is 800 rubles:

    2. Violation of the Traffic Rules by a person driving a bicycle, or by a driver or other person directly involved in the process of road traffic (except for the persons specified in Part 1 of this Article, as well as the driver of a vehicle)

shall entail the imposition of an administrative fine in the amount of eight hundred rubles.

    4. The fine for a moped driver who drives out of the designated lane for cyclists is 1,500 rubles:

    1. Violation of the rules for the location of a vehicle on the carriageway, oncoming passing, as well as movement on the side of the road or crossing an organized transport or pedestrian column or taking a place in it -
